We are ready with our third release of the year! This update includes improvements to core modeling, drawings, Render Studio, and more. Let's dive in.

CAD IMPROVEMENTS

WRAP ON CONICAL FACE

You can now apply a Wrap feature to a conical face. In the past, this was limited to cylindrical faces.

REPAIR MANAGER IMPROVEMENTS

In addition to accessing the Repair manager from the Versions and history panel, you can now fix broken references in 2 alternate ways. Right-click on the failed feature in the features list or from the failed reference in the feature dialog. In both cases select Edit healthy moment to open the Repair panel with the feature’s latest healthy moment.

COPY/PASTE CONFIGURATION INPUTS

You can now copy and paste configuration inputs in Onshape. This makes building configurations with similar inputs much easier.

HIDE SHEET METAL FORM FEATURES

You can now hide the Form feature sketch that is visible in the Sheet metal flat view.

DRAWINGS

BREAK DIMENSION AND SHOW DIMENSION LINE DRAWING PROPERTY

You will find two new drawing properties for Break dimension and Show dimensions lines in the Drawing properties panel.

RENDER STUDIO

OPENVDB VOLUME APPEARANCE

Render Studio now supports OpenVDB volumes with a new OpenVDB volume appearance. Use this appearance to create volumetric effects like smoke, fog, and water, without needing to model complex geometry.

FEATURESCRIPT

IMPROVED LAMBDA FUNCTIONS

FeatureScript now has improved lambda functions. This syntax change was highly requested and makes code more succinct and easier to read.

ENTERPRISE

GLOBAL IMPORT PERMISSION

You will find a new "Import files" Global permission that allows you to define who in your organization can import files. By default, this is set to all users in the enterprise.

Please take a moment to try out these new features and improvements and leave your comments below. For a detailed list of all the changes in this update, please see the changelog.

Remember: The updates listed here are now live for all users when creating new Documents. Over the next few days, these features will also be available in Documents created before this update.

Conical wrap is a nice improvement. I'm still looking for more general wrap or "flow" along surfaces, but this is a step in the right direction.

I'll have to see how the repair manager change works in practice. It seems like a really good thing.

The copy config inputs seems like it is a baby step towards having an easier way to have configurations ripple down assemblies, subassemblies and parts. I definitely went through a lot of pain doing this in a more manual way in the past, so this is better.

Overall, there are some useful little things here.

Nice! Healthy moment repair and lambda syntax looks great.

Is there any dedicated 3d sketch tool?

Copy config inputs is a wonderful improvement!

"Edit healthy moment" is such a killer functionality! Onshape was already miles ahead of other CAD for being able to go back and see what a model looked like when it worked, but making it this accessible and easy is so good.

Can you edit healthy moment if the reference for a sketch was deleted or moved? It didn't give me any suggestions on how to unbreak the model.

I love the "Edit healthy" approach. Can't wait to test it out over the next few days.

Insert Image- Import is not showing up on the bottom anymore- Is there a different way to insert an image?

Yeah I think "edit healthy" is going to be my favourite!
There were definitely many times where I would just fix things manually because I couldn't be bothered to bring up the repair tool (for simple enough things) but I think I will use it a lot more now!

Copy paste configuration inputs should also save quite a bit of time when setting up configured multi-level assemblies (still have to "reattach" the inputs though)…

Another awesome release - and thank you Onshape developer teams! The Global Import Permission is a huge help for us by limiting redundant COTS imports by different users (one source of truth). We will provide access to a Team who is versed in all the proper search methods to ensure it isn't already in the database (not everyone always fills in P/N, etc.)

There's some pretty solid stuff here and I am especially happy with the default break dimensions option, copy config and repair history button.
Absolutely love the focus on foundational improvments over new features!

Copying configurations up the assembly stack is simply brilliant. I didn't know I needed it.
