How to find what is "not fully defined" in a sketch the is all black with no blue dots

glenn_cooperglenn_cooper Member Posts: 6

Every so often I end up with a sketch that is not fully defined with no blue showing. The normal problem is that the undefined point is under a defined point. The only way that I have found to find the undefined point is to remove constraints to move the existing lines until I can find the actual problem. Is there a way to find undefined points/lines similar to the "Profile Inspect" for loose ends?

Try dark mode and a higher zoom. The color difference is more visible in dark mode, and the higher zoom can help since points are slightly larger than vertexes.

Dark Mode did not help. The current sketch that is showing as "not fully defined" (see below) is from mostly derived elements with no blue visible. Zooming in does not help as I think the problem is an undefined point under a defined point. What I am looking for is a faster/simpler way of finding the undefined point rather that deleting lines and then reinstating them until I find the problem.

As long as your main sketch entities are black, then my advice would be to ignore the error. I may suggest to dev to ignore single unconstrained points as it's driving people crazy.

Yes and no! Having undefined points has caused me problems in the past. Soon as you ignore one sketch with an undefined point then you start to ignore some that do matter. Would be better to enhance the profile inspector to identify the undefined element.

What about making the blue dots bigger than the black dots so that they are easier to find, even if they're under a black dot?

And perhaps add a setting to change the colour blue to, say, bright orange?
