Design Intent

A few months ago Cody created a great intro video about design intent. I've been wanting to expand on these concepts for awhile and push the topic further down the path.

-there are 1,000's of ways to put an assembly together
-I'm not a fan of SW assemblies and I don't want that

    Hi @billy, Great video, I like the way you structure your assemblies. They look very robust but do you still find in SolidWorks that stuff falls apart due too cross document reference's and unforeseen changes? Any you finding Onshape more stable?

    I certainly think that we will have the ability to edit part's in assemblies sometime in the future going by what @scott_harris said in this post. However I don't think we will have the ability to parametrically link in assemblies, although I wonder if we might see global document variables which step outside of the part studio that may be able to be link into an assembly.
