Exploded view

Is there any way to automatically generate an exploded view of an assembly? I have many mates fastening the various parts together, and it would be nice not to have to add offsets to every one to make an exploded view manually, and then change them back when I'm done. I'd like to click on the parts I want to move and specify a distance and direction, and then repeat for other parts. This would be incredibly useful for making assembly manuals.

    This has been discussed every now and then, at the moment the best solution is to duplicate assembly and remove mates (or adjust offsets). Very manual solution.
    I actually thought there is already improvement request and I also thought I have already voted.

    Exactly, I did search but just noticed from another thread that there was an issue with search function today..

    I recently spoke with a representative from Onshape who informed me that one of their main priorities for 2019 is to work on incorporating a designated exploded view feature within Onshape. Looking forward to seeing this incorporated in the software this year.
