use variable in assembly

Hi,
I've been trying to use variable in assembly, but I'm not successful.
Who knows how can use a variable from part in the assembly?
Thank you

If you have an idea or feature you would need in Onshape, create a ticket using feedback (?-menu in cad). You will then get email if/when it's implemented and more importantly Onshape can collectively get data on what we users need.

Not if you uncheck the "Insert into all Parts Studios and Assemblies" checkbox. You can then manually choose exactly which variable(s) to import in any assembly.

To what end do you wish to use them? There may be another approach.

I look at configuration variables, but I don't think it is applicable to my use case.
@eric_pesty The problem with using a Variable Studio is the variables are shared across all tabs in the document.

Even though seven years have passed and so much has changed — new features, new updates, and all done by your successors — I really appreciate that you noticed my old question and took the time to reply. Thanks a lot!
