Can I have unique names for assemblies and their mates that are created via circular pattern.
Hi, I've got a couple of subassemblies stacked and connected via revolute mates into a "tower". I have no problem duplicating this aggregate assembly using Assembly Circular Pattern, resulting in a few towers. However, I've got the mates uniquely named in tower1 (dof_tower1_a, dof_tower1_b, ...), and would like to be able…

Following a curved path in an assembly
If I want the vehicle to follow the curved rail (blue), what kind of joints can I use? I have tried using my imagination but cannot see, how this can be made to move in Onshape. In other tools, I can imagine creating a mate between the wheels that then "slides" along the curved path. I will likely make a revolute joint…

Two tangent mates
Has anyone ever managed to have one part mate tangentially in two positions? I have a plate with rollers moving along two tracks from one position to another and this should work, but Onshape thinks that i am over defining the assembly, which i am not. If i remove one of the tangent propagation options on either mate, it…

Why does there appear a gap between the spokes and the ring and how can I fix that?
In 3D_Druck_Folder > Part Studio 6 Copy 1 Copy 1 the whole wheel is constructed as one single Part. This is how it has to look like at the end.I need to seperate this wheel into two parts, like I did in Assembly 8, and then I have to combine them. But now since I did that, there appears a gap between the spokes and the…

Sub-Assemblies "Fixed" do not stay "fixed" in Parent assemblies.
I'm coming from a Solidworks background... I imported an x_t file that contains many parts and surfaces into a single document. I don't want to have to "mate" the parts and surfaces. I just want to "fix" them in space. So I did that. I highlighted all the parts/surfaces and "fixed" them. However, when I pull the document…

Why doesn't my full assembly export and print print out ?
I designed a simple rectangular two hole whistle in Onshape. I designed 2 small pegs which were inserted in the holes using fastened mate. When I exported the file, the pegs which were inside of the fixed assembly inside of the holes did not export. Why didn't the pegs export with the entire assembles part? I do not want…

Why are the icons for these sub-assemblies different, and how can I change them?
I just realized what it was -- the subassemblies were either entirely fixed or had some movable mates.

How do I mate these two parts in assembly? Fasten mate gives me an error.
