Issues with the delete key, and new lines 'snapping' to existing ones
Hi All, Has anyone had issues using the delete keys to remove lines from a sketch? It normally works, but today it hasn't been working, I've been using 'trim' on lines and right-click 'delete dimension' on dimensions as a work around. I can deal with it, but it just gets frustrating not being able to 'just delete'. Also… -
Re: how do you specify a specific length in a sketch?
Old post but lol, agreed. Drawing a line is easy enough. Clicking on the line doesn't let me change the length, though, but I can add a dimension, click the dimension, change the dimension label and all it does is turn the line red to say the dimension doesn't match the line length. No kidding, but why can't I just click… -

Sketch Dimensions -- Units and labels
Hi, I'm a mechanical design engineer and have some feedback on sketch dimensions. In general, these need a lot more options for customization to be up to industry standard (e.g., solidworks or NX). A few examples I've noticed so far:I should be able to add labels (or other notation) within a sketch dimension for better… -
Re: Extruding a text form to hold a LED strip.
@bart_wybouw Hey Bart... I thought about this for a bit and tried this "other" approach. The fundamental difference here is the use of Extrude Thin (which also allows for the use of a single spline line to define the letters) This approach does allow easier adjustment of the width of the letters (to a point) by using a… -
How to drive dimensions from other dimensions
In Solidworks you can use dimensions to drive other dimensions. The process is you use "=" then click on the dimension you want to reference, you can add a formula if you want as well. Eg: = "D1@Sketch1"*2" (this makes this dimensions 2 times bigger than D1) How do you do this in OnShape (this is a feature we use regularly…
