Re: What is the easiest/fastest way to downscale a part (Sheet Metal)
Here is a feature I just made to do exactly that (it recalculates all the ratios):

Re: Variable for quantity of pattern
I believe this functionality just isn't supported for sketch patterns at the moment.

Re: Tangent Mate - edge and plane - when I animate the motion, the whole model displaces
Your problem is simple: you need to fix the Chassis in space so that it doesn't move around when the other parts are animating.
I used a Fastened mate between the bottom face of the Chassis and the Origin.
You could also just Fix (Right-click on the Chassis component and select Fix), but a Mate will generally be more robust.

Theoretically, you would think that the revolute mate should work at all three pivot points. But when you try to do certain things using the revolute mate only, sometimes it just doesn’t work. There have been discussions about this elsewhere in this forum

Re: Make in-context holes contingent on vendor parts?
I think contexts are the way to go in your situation. Did you know that visibility is also captured by a context? you can hide everything except the parts you want to reference and update the context, and it should make it easier to find your references. Things that you referenced before, that are now hidden won't fail either, so I usually try to keep it to 1 context per model position, and just update visibility for what I'm working on. By the way, 2 positions would be like editing each side of a 3D printer gantry with the print head at each side. I think in your case, you should just use 1 and update it as needed. Does that help?
New Video Tutorial: 31 Sketch tips and tricks
I finally got around to finishing up a tips and tricks tutorial all about sketching. Give it a watch and let me know if you didn't learn anything. It's just under 20 minutes even though I felt like I moved fairly quickly. There's just so much to cover!

Re: How can I increase the width of the UISpec dialog box?
Looks like a monstrously powerful feature. I don't think there's a way to change the width of the box though. I've usually ended up just favoring a UI that's longer vertically with groups as you have them. It's not the easiest to use, since for long ones you really need to just expand one group at a time. Now that I think of it, it could be useful to use editing logic to collapse other groups when you expand one. Not sure if that's possible either.
Re: parts appearance in drawing
@yuval_taff - It is not currently possible to control the hatch pattern in a drawing. We will be adding this capability.
