but the one I used before, you import your model into OneRender, then you drag and drop colors / textures onto your model.
Then you can adjust lighting etc.
Then you can save the image back to Onshape
but here is where it is in RealityServer

If so how?
If you need something 3d printed, you will need to model it with the part.
Rendering is to simulate what a part looks like after paint/finishing. Not part of the manufacturing
Thanks

Well as much as I don't want to advertise SW, They just introduced this feature in 2019 https://youtu.be/DW89pQRwbnc?t=888
As for here, what we can do will be to create each creator by patterning / scaling. But it would be more of an art project.
If you want a true life moon surface quickly, from a skin texture. Onshape has a long way to go on that.
Sorry, not the answer you wanted to hear, but it's not that it can't be done.. but there sure are a lot of creators on the surface of the moon
For a more artistic version with only a few creators. I would start by drawing up a few creators with slightly different shapes.
Add a bunch of points to the outside surface like a grid (may be a featurescript for that)
Then use something like:
Point pattern: https://cad.onshape.com/documents/579ff593e4b06fddb8ba0554/v/c4ad6e57d8aef03b89e93dab/e/0006cc6ad7b70ef30732a1e0
and
Non-Uniform Scale: http://https//cad.onshape.com/documents/c3f3651d28491d28eefba7d3/v/b5b79e36ef390264d2763eaf/e/8861bf8269d47b0a76aa4c1f
to randomly place and misshape them
then boolean add everything as one part.
Hope that helps, or gives you an idea on how ("I") would approach this
Thank you for your help, are there any other programs where I could import that sphere, give it texture, than importing back onto onshape with the texture on it?
We haven't upgraded SW yet so I don't even know how well it works.
Is there anyway you could show me, like a video.
What is SW?
I'll put together a short video
Thank you very much!
