Alternative method of creating the Gyrosphere Tutorial for High School Students and below

I ran into a problem using the tutorial provided by OnShape for the Gyrosphere. In particular, the Shell tool didn't seem to work on a sphere. As a workaround, I created a half-sphere and Shelled it. I then Mirrored the hollow hemisphere and continued the tutorial from that point on. I have found several other tools that don't seem to work as advertised and don't know if it is because of my lack of experience since I am new to Onshape, or a software glitch with Onshape. I have attached a complete tutorial to this document should anyone else want to use it. I am interested in working with any other teachers working with Onshape since we will be on distance learning in the Fall. Most of my students do not have a computer powerful enough to run other CAD programs.

First you are to be commended for finding and using a tool that works for the extra-ordinary circumstances we are in.
Then - the Shell feature should work, in fact I tried different methods and can not get it to fail. Could you share the URL of a document in failed state?

Thanks for offering to help.
Below is the link to the document I was working on. The Sphere was made from putting fillets on to a cylinder, but it would not shell. I used the 4.00-inch thickness as per the tutorial.

Thank you for the comment. Yes, my way of approaching a sphere is from revolving a half-circle. I don't know why but I must have overlooked the HOLLOW option in the SHELL feature. Coming from a different CAD system (Autodesk Inventor) I am left wondering why a SHELL feature would need a HOLLOW checkbox? But in any event, learning can happen when we make mistakes and improve upon them.

Just make a copy and follow the instructions!
Cool thanks! I like this format with the tutorial inside the document.
When I find the exercise via google I see this url ( https://www.onshape.com/academic/curriculum-resources/gyrosphere-modeling-final.html ), which leads me to believe this is an offering created by Onshape.
Do you know if there are more of these curriculum resources? And/or whether they are compiled in a certain place?
There are two more!
