Onshape's Model of the Week Contest

lougallolougallo Member, Moderator, Onshape Employees, Developers Posts: 1,996

It has been a while since I talked about the model of the week contest and we since we have have had a number of users join our community since we launched, I wanted to announce the model of the week details once more.

Since the very beginning here at Onshape, we have internally held a weekly modeling competition for model of the week and back in August we extended this tradition to all of your with a public model of the week contest in the forums.

Each week you can simply make one of your models public and name it MOTW - <document name> and you will be entered in the MOTW contest for the entire community to vote on.  If you win, you get a $25 Amazon gift card and a badge for the forums.  You may enter anytime during the week and the voting opens opens for a couple of hours before 4PM EST every Friday.

This is a fun way for us to make CAD fun and see what cool things we can do as the product iterates.  Show us what awesome things you have built with Onshape!

A few of us tried to start it up ourselves. Not enought people showed interest. It only lastud a couple months before fading away.

I'm sure the same happened to Onshape's contest.

If you have a nice model you want to show off, look in the questions area, there is a thread there called 'have a nice model to show 2017' i'm sure there will be a 2018 one soon.

Would you mind setting up DYHANMTS for 2018? Your 'uptime' on forums seems to be pretty high.. =)

About original MOTW, it didn't fade away - I suppose it was somewhat extra low impact weekly work.. It had a lot more interest when it was held by Onshape and it was official than the one we tried to set up..

I think it's still cool to have a place to show off cool models that have been made. Can ya'll make one of those threads for 2022?
