How to Make Threads on a Bolt?

Hello all! I am trying to create a tensile tester that has bolt-like ends. I've found some decent tutorials on how to create a bolt itself using the helix tool and a triangle sketch to create the thread, however my issue is that I'm not sure how they size the triangle to adjust for the diameter of the thread they want. I'm wanting my thread diameter to be 12 millimeters. If anyone could explain here I would appreciate it, or alternately if you have a tutorial video that explains it well I would be grateful!

There's tables out there for thread depth for every diameter and pitch.
A little table on the back on my calipers here says for a standard M12 bolt the pitch is 1,75mm and the core diameter 9,73mm. So, your triangle should be something like 1,75mm high and (12mm-9,73mm)/2=1,135mm wide. Roughly.
Or you could just use the Thread Lab Feature script.
