Individual threads in Forum 'Home' not being marked as viewed

brian_jordanbrian_jordan Member, Developers Posts: 139 ✭✭✭
After reading some, but not all, threads the thread title doesn't clear from a shaded to a white background. I'm sure that until a week or so ago a shaded background indicated that there are unviewed articles. Am I mis-remembering this? "Mark all viewed" works as expected.  Chrome and Firefox.

    Thanks Neil,
Is there somewhere where forum issues can be reported directly or is 'General' here as good a place as any?
  • NeilCookeNeilCooke Moderator, Onshape Employees Posts: 5,307
@brian_jordan - General is fine and if you tag @lougallo it will get there faster :)

I left that message in the hope that you would respond... I can confirm that after reading your answer the thread background cleared to white. It seems your report has been acted on. Thanks again

It looks like new posts/threads are now working properly here but to me the fix doesn't seem to be retrospective; YMMV as they say. I just used the 'MARK ALL VIEWED' option and am waiting to see how those threads behave after getting new messages. I like 'VIEWED' as opposed to 'READ' which seems to be the norm on most Fora.

Still happening for me today (on this thread!). Sometimes changes to "viewed" after the second time I view a thread.

Thanks Brian.  A "mark all as read" worked for me temporarily but as soon as new posts were added it became stuck again. I think @lougallo is bored and is messing with us o:)

@owen_sparks How'd you know?  I have talked to our vendor about this.  They did a push on Monday that might be the culprit.  I am noticing it in the Community support category mostly.  Will update you all when I get them to fix it.

Strange... I have just read new posts in the forum and the background to all threads but one have failed to clear. The one that has cleared is this one after @owen_sparks's 9.24 post [1]. Coincidence that @lougallo has posted here recently?

Almost none of the threads are clearing for me either for the pasty 2-3 days - US, Central Time Zone.

The forum is being weird again.
It's highlighting my replies to threads as unread posts.

Can you give the server a kick again please?
    Cheers,
    Owen S.
