Can my configured assembly be set to be a "Master" assembly?
I have spent days setting up a configurable assembly that works great. BOMs update, Properties change accordingly, the works... Here is my problem - when I use the assembly to review or discuss the product with someone, I am hiding and suppressing parts all over the place. The next time I go to the configured assembly, the…

Fast way to configure a lot of parts?
The sub-assembly consists of a lot of parts. I'd like to make this and other sub-assemblies configurable with the variables that were being used to create the parts. As there is a high number of parts in this helix and multiple variables (5) I am looking for a different way than klicking on every part and selecting each of…

Subassembly component suppression for Configurations
For the purposes of configurations, I need to "overload" a subassembly with components. In other words, I need to place bolts in the sub-assembly to populate all possible locations used in the upper-level assembly. However, in the upper-level assembly, I cannot suppress the unused bolts for the different configurations. Is…

Configuration parts used in assemblies
Maybe I'm not doing something right but I have a configuration of a part with multiple variable dimensions. When I created the assembly, it was based on the then-selected configuration. Subsequently, when I choose an alternate configuration, the assembly does not update to the new part configuration but maintains the…

Configurations vs Configurable
In production having configurations for various Hardware is awesome. Washers/spacers/pins/shoulder screws/orings/bumpers/cable management/ ... name it. I can assign PNs and Descriptions for discrete items. However, in R&D I often just want to try various sizes of washers/pins/screws/... without having to go in and make a…

Make a Configuration Variable that can accept a FS array/ any FS expression
I must be missing something. I'm trying to have one of my configuration variables accept an FS array, but when I attempt to specify the configuration variable type, I just get the options of Length, Angle, Integer, Real or Text. Is there no way to put in a general FS expression? The general PS variables have an "Any" type.…

Can configurations be forwarded up the hierarchy?
I'm working on configurable robotic cell frame & guarding. Is there a way to pass part studio configurations from part studio up the hierarchy to assembly? https://cad.onshape.com/documents/133540c2ec185f5f740133d1/w/ad794bc1b14bbd2b2351c804/e/0c30a4765880881e8e8a7ca3

Onshape and Raspberry Pi 4?
I am thinking of purchasing a Raspberry Pi 4 to use as an inexpensive computer for tinkering, web browsing, etc. Can you access Onshape from a Pi 4? (web or app) Does it work well enough for basic Part Studio design work? I would appreciate any advice or setup/configuration tips. Thanks in advance. Pat.

Struggling to recreate Configured Part Studio Reference Parameter
Hi, I've been playing around with using instantiators in FS, but I'm struggling to recreate this example part studio: https://cad.onshape.com/documents/c407dcc5516019b9d00703fd/w/3a0d436f95fd51d1428f7933/e/de203037b7ef2d6975acfd74 Where you would usually right click to 'configure with ...', I'm not presented with this…

Drawing Automation For Configured Parts/Assemblies?
Any tips or tricks for speeding up and/or automating drawings for configured parts and assemblies? One way would be the ability to insert the configuration table (in case that you use classic method of single table driving everything) + labeled dimensions that relate to the config table columns. Seems like there's an…

Mate connector for slider mate for tube roller on configurable diameter tube
I've been scratching my head over this for a bit now, so I thought I'd ask about a particularly weird case for defining a mate connector. Here is the part I'm importing: https://www.servocity.com/0-250-acetyl-press-fit-tube-roller. Here is an image of a similar part (with built-in ball bearings) as an example of how the…

Drawing with Parts Studio Configurations
In my parts studio called Tote Goat Guard Set I will have approximately 80 different configurations. This was amazingly easy to do. (I know I didn't need to use variables but by naming as such it's easier to enter from my spreadsheet). Here is my question. I have made a drawing of the first configuration AL190SN. Is there…
