Using Clips In Wiring

Hi All,

We are routing a harness, lots of wires etc. So we guess the quickest way would be using clips (Firtree made as a clip) then route a wire through it and then other wires follow the first etc.

We have created the clip etc but struggling to work out how to place it in the part studio of the harness etc. is there a guide etc how to insert clips?

See Neil's videos on how to use the wire routing and clips:
    https://forum.onshape.com/discussion/18756/custom-feature-cable-wire-routing/p1…

If your not using his features but a different workflow, you can use Super Derive to place clips in multiple locations at a time within a part studio.
Routing Curve or Freeform Spline will allow you to quickly rout the wires through the clips. If going with this approach, then I suggest using Evan's Wire feature paired with the spline features.

Hi, We are using the custom feature, importing CSV etc. We have a clip setup like the video but the videos dont show how to actually insert the clip in to an part studio. If you click clip in the part studio and then select the clip, the options are "Location" and "Orientation" We select location, select a hole, the clip never appears etc.

The video shows using it here: https://forum.onshape.com/discussion/comment/99289/#Comment_99289

The clips must be setup correctly as well. If you're sure you've followwed all the steps, please open a support ticket and mention me. Thanks.

    Hi Neil,

Think we solved it, we had selected a mate on the clip but didnt seem to work, re-added it and did it again and its working
