We planned to have them put their own ornaments on the tree, but I ran out of time. We can use this tree for next years ornament festival lol.

Super stoked for OS Live tomorrow! Gonna be great.

I'm getting excited for the next battle. Should produce some amazing renders as it will be right up Render Studio's alley. It will be less difficult than the Christmas tree ;) I didn't realize how tough this one was going to be; it was not my intent.

    Really nice renderings!

Unfortunately, I wasn't able to complete the Christmas tree rendering challenge. The task proved to be quite complex, and I struggled to find an efficiently way to create all the necessary parts. Additionally, time became a major issue, which made it even more challenging.

However, I had an idea that might help us in future Render battles. Perhaps we could use a public Onshape model as a starting point for our next challenge. This way, we could focus more on the rendering process itself, rather than the creation of the 3D model.

No worries @sebastian_glanzner, one big competitor less :D

Stoked to see your result at the next battle. Kinda like the idea with a public model. But I think the parts are getting more unique if you create it from scratch. We can decide on a theme and everyone builds their own model, as before. But if you don't have the time, you can use the public model. @MichaelPascoe

This one was a bit too challenging. It seemed so simple as a concept. It did help us find some of Onshape's limits in this way. Now we can stay clear of them.

Using public models is a good idea, though it's more impressive if it is all inside Onshape. Also, I don't like having to explain to people: "Yes they rendered that! No, they didn't model it :disappointed:".

Would this make me an Onshape purist? :D

Yes, that would only be intended as an emergency solution, if someone has no time to model, but find a self-construct also better.

    Here is my vote:

+1 for @emagdalenaC2i's Christmas tree ladder. Those are some sweet renders. Nice detail on the lights, ornaments, and gifts below the "tree".

I like @emagdalenaC2i's ladder. The cables look like they sag with gravity pretty nicely
