Introducing Camel: CAM for OnShape, implemented in FeatureScript

Camel is a CAM application for OnShape, implemented in FeatureScript. Use the Camel FeatureScript library to generate tool paths from a PartStudio to drive a 3-axis machine such as a CNC router. Use Camel’s companion app to download toolpaths or simply copy/paste them from the FeatureScript notices panel. Refer to the… -
Re: Size changes when export from OnShape
Let me tell you a little story about a former colleague of mine. He always had that scaling issue. Nobody else in the office had, but he did, and even though his projects generally went well, the shop got their drawings with reasonable dimensions, and we checked he had set the units to mm in the export dialog, his exported… -
Re: featurescript for beams
well, well ,well Mr Cooke been all day now kicking my self and its beginning to hurt !! you have now earned some beer tokens today thanks. so in laymen terms the updating / new generating profile needs to have a wall thickness to generate the sequence code for the standard onshape beam profiles. For some one like me that… -
Cutting out backing

I have a picture frame that looks like this: What I need to do is get a part that represents the "backing". It would be exactly the shape of the outside perimeter of this frame. But it has to be generated from the actual drawing; the designer may yet tweak various parameters of the curves or angles of the corner stones.… -
Auto-populating Part Numbers and/or Names
As best I can tell, part names are automatically generated by Onshape when parts are initially created with the nomenclature Part [Number in design hierarchy]. Part numbers can be created automatically as well such that you can also use a numbering scheme that has a continuous counter that goes up for any part that is… -
Missing step? Failure to create a reference to an imported derived part
To see a demo of this issue, please visit my Cubic Dice document, open the Cube Script tab, and click on the yellow FeatureScript Notices {!} icon near the centre at the top of the page. You'll see the warning "Variable DIE_PART_STUDIO not found", I have worked all the way through the Milk Crate Capstone project from… -
Re: How do these surface artifacts appear when 3d printing this onshape part?

Ok I think I musunderstood.https://cad.onshape.com/documents/1f55960c596fe3f64461824c/w/a2b6fa3953eb686c3a7684f2/e/edb7a766c83c534961d2864d The document is already public so this should be enough. The artifacts happen in the stl generated from version 1. In version 2 I modified the base by extending the front and making a… -
Re: Sketch becomes unsolvable when doing anything, how can I fix?
Thanks Rick. The puzzling thing to me is that the constraints were OK until I did an action that had no bearing on the constraints, and then they were in conflict. If I have a dimension that's set to 20mm and there are no conflicts, then I change that dimension to 20mm, and there are now conflicts, then I can't understand… -

Welcome to the 4th Onshape release of the year! Let's take a look at some new features. GENERAL IMPROVEMENTS SKETCH APPEARANCES You can now apply custom colors to sketches. These sketch colors can be shown in Drawings as well, by enabling the option to "Show sketch appearances" for a specific view.… -
How to add a live edge (uncut wood) in Featurescript

Hi! I am a programmer first, but I have had some experience with SolidWorks before and now years later I have started to use Onshape to virtually build my ideas. One of the projects is a speakerbox. I have managed to build and assemble it with the built in features, but now I took a step further to simply parametrize it…
