Long story short anyone with a mac and SpacePilot able to pan or do I need to contact 3DConnexion and report a bug.
Last if it is me and my messing around in settings. Any advice on how to remedy this? I have tried hitting the defaults button in settings and uninstaling-reinstalling
LearnOnshape facebook group
After re-install, re-start and re-think I disabled McAfee Live protection that was preinstalled in my laptop - 3d mouse started working immediately and 3dconnexion properties screen says Onshape instead of browser name. I went ahead and removed McAfee completely, it seems to cause many installation issues.
BTW the browsers are Opera, Chromium and Firefox.
As a matter of interest on how well supported Linux is supported by 3Dx, the Linux driver is 1.8.0 from 2014, the Windows driver is version 10.4.8 from 2016! Now one could take the view that they got the Linux driver spot on fairly quickly or they don't really give a toss for their Linux OS customers!
Their reason is that they believe there is not enough professional Linux CAD users to justify the development (I'm sure that if SolidWorks etc. ran on Linux they would, just for the sheer volume of potential users). If enough people ask perhaps they might reconsider but it wouldn't be any time soon.
As I pointed out previously I have been able to get it to respond in FreeCAD and the demonstration cubes. Both the 3dx one and the opensource one.
It is Onshape (in the formentioned browsers) and Varicad that respond to Spacnavigators inputs.
I have proved the Spacenavigator works on my compter and my operating system (Linux Mint 18) using two programs (three if you count the demo cubes separately), so the issue must be with how the browsers interpret and respond to the 3dmouse inputs or how Onshape interprets and responds the the 3dmouse inputs. Why is 3dconexxion on the hook for other programs not reacting the same as the example program they supply that works?
Maybe the focus shold be on the broswers in much the same way we do when we have GL issues.

This work is over my head, but I sure would be grateful to whomever takes it up! Using Onshape on Kubuntu and I miss my 3dx mouse...
