Complex assembly with fixed parts has become misaligned with the origin and XYZ axes.
When I built this assembly, I was careful to fix the frame with respect to the origin and align it with the XYZ axes before using mates to add literally hundreds of other parts and sub-assemblies. However, somehow, it is now rotated a fraction of a degree about the Z axis and displaced 100 mm or so from the origin. The…

Aluminium profiles assembly
I started to work with aluminium profiles (Bosch 45x45), and I was wondering if you have some interesting tricks to make assemblies easier? I don't want to represent everything, but I would like to be able to easily make the basic shapes, and be able to move/block as needed... Thanks,

General Assembly Questions
From what I can determine a "Workspace" can only have 1 assembly tab. However that assembly can instance other assemblies from other "Workspaces" in the same document, or other from other "Document". Note: This also appears to be true with "Part-Studio", but is not with with "Drawings". (While I do not see a direct way to…

Problem with assembly (slider mates)
Hello, I have some questions/problems with slider mates. I try to create a shelf of aluminum profiles. The individual shelves should be adjustable in height. For this I tried to attach the shelves to the stands by 'slider mates'. The first slider mate also works, but the others lead to errors or the display of 'red' slider…

PART STUDIOS & ASSEMBLIES
If you have your part studio complete and then make an assembly to match it and then go back and tweak the part studio layout is there any way to "update" the assembly rather than re-insert any new parts or change the mates to reflect changes in the part studio?

Rotating sub-assembly during insertion into top level assembly
When I try to rotate a sub-assembly "B" after I insert it into a high level assembly (which already has sub-assembly "A" in it) - the parts of sub-assembly "B" (which is a copy of "A" - I just want to rotate it) change position relative to other parts of sub-assembly "B". They "fly apart" to some extent and that extent…

Tangent Bearings
Perhaps this is an easier question than my previous one, as well as being better described. Again on my camera mount: https://cad.onshape.com/documents/f5e8fcbad57136b903546cf6/w/f040dc06b25df32d39bb5f4d/e/62cc5d76096fe96e5592a60e When I try to make a tangent mate between the lower bearing that rides on the pin slot and…

How to use mates in Part Studio?
I'm trying to drill
e.g. holes through multiple parts in assemblies. From reading the forum I have
learnt that this is not possible for now. The recommendation I found was using
PartStudios instead of Assemblies. Now, how
to use Mates in PartStudios? I just found how to set mate connectors. How do I connect the
mates in…

Parts with multiple parts in an assembly
I'm an experienced SW user but brand new to OnShape. I'm importing several STEP files into my workspace, each of which is made up of multiple parts, and each of which is being translated into native OS just fine. When I import the parts into an assembly, it imports all of the sub-parts (into a flat tree structure), and…

We are already on board with solid works 2014 upgradeable to 2015. We are a small shop with only three seats.
