Some people are just toxic to AI
Our company is moving to Onshape as our primary cad system!
Don't worry though, I'm training them right
You know.. the important things
It looks like SW has taken notice lol.
Nice try y'all, but It's going to take a lot more than a puppy to get me away from Onshape!
One of our AutoCAD LT users was not able to use the software for more than 2 minutes at a time before it would say her license is invalid.
Then kick her out.
I reached out for help from them, since it's happened to that user at least 3 times before. I figure there is just something weird going on with her account.
They fix it 5 days later, after we contacted them 2 more times.
(It sounds like her auto-update wasn't working, so she had to go run that app...)
2 minutes of work on their end.
Now today I get this from our rep asking if we want to purchase a tech support seat... F U
I thought that was the whole point behind these third-party resellers!
Now AutoCAD has moved purchasing and upgrading accounts to a self-serve model online. So, WTF is the point of these guys anymore!
We've had an account with them for 20 years, and we asked for help twice... The last time I called them was back in 2010...
First of all we have 5 seats of LT... Second of all, Holy crap!
Meanwhile in Onshape, we had two users that were trying to open a BOM on their models at the same time. It was critical since they are releasing those jobs and need to access all the BOM info for purchasing and manufacturing.
We all watched through the next day or so as at least 3 or 4 different Techs (that I saw) were bouncing in and out of both documents. They finally found a bug and fixed those documents a couple hours after that. Now that's what dedication to your product and customers looks like!
You're the G.O.A.T. Onshape Team!

I haven't touched Solidworks in years now, and have only a passing familiarity with the whole 3DExperience thing, but this blog post about it is gold. I guess Dassault just really wasn't happy with slowly improving their cash cow and wanted to rip everything up and integrate it more.

😆
I recently took a Catia/3D experience instructor led class. Took three month, and all I know now is that it is not the tool I could ever do my kind of work with. When participating in that, in the evenings, out of curiosity, I recreated each excercise in both Spaceclaim and Onshape. Bottom line: There wasn't much I would actually need Catia for (I don't do super high class surfacing), 3D experience as such is a mess, slow, and prices are ridiculous. I could afford another person to help modeling in OS full time for that and be three times as productive.
