lofting

In the grey model is a loft made in SW 2025 with 3 guide curves; One on either edge and one over the top. In the beige model is the same loft with the same dimensions made in onshape, but here it creates a sharp, bumpy ridge instead of a smooth curve. Using normal end conditions on top curve does nothing. I know onshape…

Sigh. Lofts. I deliberately built these three profiles to have the same number of points, and drew them in the same clockwise order, I'm even using Connections and yet the loft engine somehow is twisting two pairs of vertices. How to disentangle this mess?

Going kinda crazy trying to figure out the loft feature here.

I'm currently designing a fishing lure using lofts, which is causing some undesirable bulging at the nose. How could I fix this without changing the profile of the bait? I have linked the document below. Thanks!

Hi all, I've had good luck with lofting faces before, but I've never tried with circle objects like this. I am trying to make a center axle plate to hold this wheel skin. since the axle plate is offset from the edge of the wheel skin, I thought lofting would be the easiest way to gradually connect the outside of the plate…

I do not exactly know how to use forums, so apologies if I am using it wrong. However I do have an issue with making a shell for my model, it looks alright(-ish) and does have some clipping, I have some ideas on how to solve it. However… I have no idea how to finish the top of the model.…

All, I am no expert, I only use Onshape as a hobbyist to knock up designs to 3D print or laser cut. I would like to use lofting as I think it would highlight errors in my designs. However I am having a problem getting it to do what I am expecting it to do. I have had some success with lofting in some of my other drawings,…

Hello all, So I have this lab assignment where I am designing a fountain pen nib and I need to use the loft feature. I set up some basic "sections" but I can not seem to get the loft to actually happen. How do I troubleshoot this? Any help is appriciated. I linked the file if comments work better.…

I have a prototype 3D shape made from cardboard and tape that I'd like to model for 3D printing. It looks like this (minus the flaps): At first I decided it would be best to start with a side profile and extrude. But it seems problematic with all the angles it has in 3D: So I tried lofting. It wouldn't allow me to create a…

Trying to model a rounded cube corner with filleted edges, and really struggling. Ive tried several approaches using lofting and no love. Any suggestions. https://cad.onshape.com/documents/785bef234064036459e0d496/w/e7d9c438fd795b83b8fe40ea/e/f99f3da79e3018ae838fa845 Thanks, km

I have been trying to loft a solid surface, I created a projected line to use as a guide but it simply does not work. I have Pierce every profile but it just highlights red. it works when I make a surface loft but the surface is not smooth in between the profiles. does anyone know why this happens? or how to smooth out a…

Ok, i am an aeronautical engineer by training and i really wanted 3D splines for lofting wing, propellor and parachute shapes. Here is a custom feature that does a lot of what i was looking for. The original work was done by Mark Barr and the tangency capability was added by Ilya Baran after i promised to leave him alone…

I'm new to CAD and have been trying to figure out how to model a microscope lenshade with the following approximate specs: Bottom profile is a circle approx 19mm diameter Above it about 20mm, the opening profile is a rectangle approx 1.5x2.5mm (this is for a microscope lens, so the subject end is narrower than the back…
