New FeatureScript: Stock Size Pro (FREE)
I've created a new custom tool called Stock Size Pro. It basically uses the same stock size calculations I used for my Cut List Pro FeatureScript, but for single parts. This includes: Onshape's Structural Frame profiles, plates, round, tubes, hex, pipe, threaded rod, sheet metal and gussets of several styles. The sizes can…

Lofting Multiple profiles
I'm designing a turbo header for a 6 cylinder engine, but I cant figure out how to loft the 6 tubes into one for the flange. I'm not experienced so I'm probably just missing something obvious. Any help is appreciated!

New FeatureScript: Cut List Pro
Hello, I've always wanted a simple to use tool for generating cut lists for weldments and decided to have a go at creating one. I came up with what I call Cut List Pro. Cut List Pro eliminates the repetitive task of manually sorting structural members, producing cut lists in seconds. Sorts by member type, then size, then…

How can I add seam allowances in duct designs without collisions?
I am designing a bunch of ductwork parts for 24ga sheet metal for hand assembly (not welded), and I can't figure out how to add seam allowances for something like a Pittsburgh seam. In a flat layout, I'd just add 1" on one side of the rip joint for the pitt and 1/4" on the other side of the rip for the flange. But when the…

Transfer files between personal and enterprise accounts
Good time of day! I am using Onshape as part of the corporate trial and have accidentally made a project in the free (cad.onshape.com) version of the site. Is there a way for me to transfer it into the corporate version? I didn't know that such a distinction existed! Thank you in advance!

Problem with curved pattern
Hello, I have a specific question about a groove pattern on my part. I want grooves to go around 1/4 of the entire part (you can see the lines where i was splitting the part for the area for the groove). i tried it with an curve pattern but the result is not what i want as you can see in the image. Also, these grooves…

About subassemblies
Hello, I'm having some trouble with subassemblies. If I use this feature and then modify the assembly, whatever I add to the assembly will be messed up when it updates. Otherwise, if I leave the lock open mirrored or pattern parts will just float off like they're not part of the main assembly. The lock position would work…

How do I change the color of multiple parts in an assembly?
Im working on building a pen in the software. It is one of those types of pens where you can select up to four different colors. I created only one actual pen piece, I then imported it 4 times into my assembly. I want to change their individual colors to represent different ink colors. Is there a way to do this, or do I…

FeatureScript access to complete material properties and the Onshape Material Library

Insert Sheet Template
When creating a new drawing, OnShape correctly selects the latest up-to-date template. But when inserting a new sheet I get an old template, and then have to manually switch to the latest. Can I set OnShape to always use the latest (or a specific) template for insert sheet? Thanks in advance

When using frames is there a way to have an off center pattern.
I see that frame profiles is deciding geometric center/origin for the profile. Is there a way to offset the profile? I have something that wants an offset to match with a previous frame but unable to set location myself. In this particular application the origin wants to be outboard of the profile.

Can Command Aliases Be Used?
I use OnShape Free for personal projects and Inventor at

FeatureScript access to complete material properties and the Onshape Material Library
I am a mentor for a FIRST Robotics team, and we recently started exploring Onshape Simulation. One of the first issues we encountered was that parts created by many of our custom FeatureScripts are missing the material data needed for simulation. Our custom features already assign materials such as Aluminum 6061, but…

Can't break one specific corner – why is this?
I have a sheet metal and did some corner breaks. But somehow only one edge is not resolving, even if the same geometry on the other side works as expected. Can someone maybe help me find what the real issue is here? The same issue happens also when I use fillet instead of corner breaks… The underlying geometry is very…

Creating custom supports for 3d printing

Create a coind readable from both sides
Hi, I am struggling to create a coin with a number value (e.g. 5) which has the same number on both sides, but not mirrored! Meaning no matter which side I am looking at, the number is readable.
